Nobody works harder than Kevin Kenerly to improve the quality of life in Gwinnett. He is currently seeking a final four-year term to complete a number of critically important initiatives:
- Ease traffic congestion by completing the much-needed extension of Sugarloaf Parkway and widening of Highway 20 from the Forsyth County line to Interstate 85.
- Provide a commute alternative by supporting the northeast corridor commuter rail service called “The Georgia Brain Train”. The Brain Train line would follow along existing track to daily take 10,000 or more drivers off our roads. And the University of Georgia, Georgia Gwinnett College and the Gwinnett Bioresearch corridor (with four depots in Gwinnett) would be connected to Emory, the Centers for Disease Control, Georgia Tech and Georgia State.
- Introduce new recreation opportunities by “fast-tracking” the Rock Springs Park expansion in Collins Hill – completing the project years ahead of schedule.
Kevin has accomplished numerous community-centered projects:
Permanently protected more than 8,000 acres of greenspace for recreational use.
Raised construction standards by expanding overlay zoning, which calls for brick, stone and other elevated aesthetics, along Highways 20, 124, 324 and Hamilton Mill
Widened Satellite Boulevard and Peachtree Industrial Boulevard as well as upgraded numerous intersections.
Supported the creation of the state-of-the-art F. Wayne Hill Water Resource Center to ensure water supplies for both now and in the future.
Approved the creation of the new Environmental Heritage Center to serve as an outdoor learning venue for students and a central point to present Gwinnett County history.
